Ravish Kumar (born 5 December 1974) is an Indian journalist, author, and media personality. He is known for his outspoken and critical reporting on social and political issues, particularly those affecting the marginalized and disadvantaged sections of society.
Kumar was born in Jitwarpur village in the East Champaran district of Bihar, India. He completed his early education in Patna and then moved to Delhi for higher studies. He graduated from Deshbandhu College, Delhi University, and then enrolled in a post-graduate diploma in Hindi Journalism from the Indian Institute of Mass Communication.
Kumar began his journalistic career in 1996 with the Hindi news channel NDTV India. He has since hosted a number of popular programs on the channel, including Prime Time, Hum Log, Ravish Ki Report, and Des Ki Baat.
