What is The CWC 2023 Super Six Stage?


The CWC 2023 Super Six Stage is the second stage of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2023. It is a round-robin format, with each team playing the other two teams they did not meet in the group stage. The top two teams at the end of the Super Six stage will qualify for the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023.



The Super Six stage was played from 29 June to 7 July 2023 in Zimbabwe. The six teams participating in the Super Six stage were:

 

  1. Sri Lanka
  2. Zimbabwe
  3. Netherlands
  4. Scotland
  5. Oman
  6. West Indies

 

 The results of the Super Six stage were as follows:

Sri Lanka won all four of their matches, finishing top of the table.

The Netherlands won three of their four matches, finishing second.

Scotland won two of their four matches, finishing third.

Oman won one of their four matches, finishing fourth.

West Indies won none of their four matches, finishing bottom.

 

 

As a result of the Super Six stage, Sri Lanka and Netherlands qualified for the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023.

 

 

The Super Six stage was a closely fought competition, with all six teams in contention for qualification for the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 until the final day of the tournament. 



The results of the Super Six stage were also significant in terms of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Super League, as the top four teams in the Super Six stage also qualified for the next round of the Super League. 

 

 

 

In How Many Stadiums Will The World Cup 2023 Be Played?

The 2023 Cricket World Cup will be played in 10 stadiums across India. The stadiums are:

 

Ahmedabad:                       Narendra Modi Stadium, Motera

Bengaluru:                          M Chinnaswamy Stadium

Chennai:                              MA Chidambaram Stadium

Delhi:                                   Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium

Dharamshala:                       Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium

Lucknow:                            Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium

Hyderabad:                          Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Uppal

Pune:                                    Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium

Kolkata:                                Eden Gardens

Mumbai:                              Wankhede Stadium

 

 

The tournament will kick off on October 5 with the first match between New Zealand and England at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The final will be played on November 29 at the same stadium.
